John Lennon was one of the greatest and most revolutionary music artists of all time, and the idol of StevoAwesome.

Because of Stevo's infatuation with John, he has been heavily mentioned in Serious Experiment Rain, and was also heavily mentioned in the DP Wiki Discord server before Stevo left the DP Wiki. John Lennon, along with David Bowie and Boards of Canada, is one of the most well known and most frequently listened to musicians in the Serious Experiment Rain chat.

John Lennon was born in Liverpool, England on October 9th, 1940. As a teenager, John Lennon became interested in music after seeing stars like Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. As a result, he founded The Quarrymen, which would later evolve into The Beatles. The Beatles went on to be the most successful and critically acclaimed musical group of all time. After John quit the band in 1969, he went on to have two critically acclaimed albums which rival many of The Beatles' albums in quality, and he moved to New York City with his wife, Yoko Ono. After these two album, John got heavily involved with political activism. Critics hated many of the political songs which lowered Lennon's morale, and on top of that, he was being harassed by the Nixon Administration all while in the middle of a deportation attempt by them. This resulted in a downwards spiral for Lennon as he fell into what he called his Lost Weekend. After his Lost Weekend, John quit the music industry in 1975 to raise his newborn son, Sean, as a stay at home dad. 5 years later, John returned to the music industry with a collaborative album with Yoko Ono titled Double Fantasy. The album received positive reviews, and was climbing the charts before John was fatally shot outside his apartment by Mark David Chapman. After John's death, both the album and single from the album, (Just Like) Starting Over, immediately went number one, with (Just Like) Starting Over being the 62nd biggest song on the United States Billboard Charts. Despite dying almost 40 years ago, John Lennon still remains one of the most famous celebrities of all time, not just with his work with The Beatles, but as a solo performer as well. His 1971 song, Imagine, is one of the most well known songs of all time, being recognized as an international anthem for peace, and despite dying at the hands of a senseless shooting, Lennon's message for peace and non-violence is still recognized to this day.
